General Information

1. Age: Preferably below 35 years for Assistant Professor Grade II and 45 years for Grade I. Age relaxation is applicable as per the Government of India norms.
2. Reservation is applicable as per the norms of the Government of India. The candidates are required to submit the caste/Category/Disabilities Certificate issued by the Competent Authority in the format prescribed by the Government of India for this purpose.
3. All applications will be acknowledged by email. If an acknowledgment is not received in one week, an email may be sent to the Further communication will be sent only to candidates who are shortlisted.
4. The prescribed qualifications and experience are the minimum and the mere possession of the same does not entitle candidates to be called for interview. The other essential & Desirable requirements will be as prescribed for faculty positions in IIITs under four tier faculty structure.
5. A committee will shortlist the candidates to be called for the interview. Shortlisted candidates will be required to give a seminar/presentation prior to or during the interview. No interim enquiries /correspondence / communication of any sort will be entertained in the matter.
6. Candidates appearing for interview will be paid with traveling expenses, from home station / place of duty / port of disembarkation within India, restricted to AC II tier class in Indian Railways.
7. IIIT-Kottayam follows Four tier flexible faculty structure promulgated by MHRD, Govt. of India.
8. The faculty appointed in regular faculty cadre will be on probation for a period one year. Confirmation in service after the period of probation will be subject to the assessment of performance as per prescribed criteria and verification of antecedents.

In addition to the pay and allowances, benefits like leave, Leave Travel Concession, Medical Reimbursement etc. will be available as admissible to, in line with the service conditions as contained under the IIIT (PPP) Act & Statutes, as amended from time to time to the faculty appointed in regular faculty cadre.

Those who appointed as Assistant Professor Grade II will not be entitled for benefits as applicable for faculty appointed on regular cadre like Leave Travel Concession, Medical Reimbursement Facilities and NPS. However they will be provided with leave as applicable to regular faculty members.They will have to apply afresh against the Institute advertisement in case they wish to come under the regular faculty cadre.

10. Person appointed on regular faculty cadre will be covered under the New Pension Scheme as notified by the Government of India.
11. Candidates working under the Central Govt. /State Govt. /Public Sector Undertakings/ Central Autonomous Bodies in India should submit their applications through proper channel. They may, however, send an advance copy of the application. Those who are unable to forward their application through proper channel have to produce the No Objection Certificate from the current employer at the time of interview.
12. Date for determining the eligibility of all candidates in every respect shall be the prescribed closing date for submission on online recruitment application.
13. Where number of applications received in response to the advertisement is large, the Institute reserves to restrict the number of candidates to be called for selection process to a reasonable limit on the basis of qualifications and experience higher than the minimum. The decision of the Institute in this regard shall be final.
14. The application has to be submitted "through online mode" only as per instructions given in the website. Incomplete applications and applications not supported by relevant documents as claimed in the application will be summarily rejected.
15. As an institution of national importance, IIIT Kottayam strives to have a workforce which reflects an all-India character and hence candidates from all over the country are encouraged to apply. Female candidates are especially encouraged to apply so as to have a workforce which also reflects gender balance
16. The institute reserves the right not to fill up the vacancy advertised without assigning reasons thereof.

18. The Institute reserves the right to regularize / modify the pay scales or other service conditions, if found necessary later on, due to any change in the policy as decided by the BoG of the Institute or the Government of India.
